Pumpkin Patch 2008

The year went as any other normal Halloween except we never did get around to the carving of the pumpkin! As I type this is still remains sitting on my front porch. Luckily it's a dial holiday decoration so it will remain until Thanksgiving. :)
The most exciting thing to the LM was his first SCHOOL BUS RIDE!

To get this poor little pumpkin that will (never) become a jack-o-lantern...we took a field trip to the Pumpkin Patch. Did all the things one does at any Patch.

Hay Ride

Hay Maze (apparently I didn't get a photo of that)

A little Coloring (or this...)

Then the big moment...selecting that special pumpkin. This sounds easy, right? But this was the theme of the day...

"this one is too small, this one is too dirty, this one is perfect size but it was too heavy, this one has no stem"

So Mommy had to put her foot down and make the selection. Not sure why this year, at 6, it was more difficult then past years, perhaps it was the weather. It APPEARED from the warmth of our house that it was a nice warm day. In fact to really wasn't that cold but with the wind that was whipping around it felt much cooler and NONE of us were really dressed appropriately!
(NOTE TO SELF: next year take extra jackets etc and leave in the car just in case)

BUMBLE BEE TO THE RESCUE

So tonight I go out to get our mail at 830pm. I forgot to get it today. As I was calling my dog, who came out with me to go potty, I heard the "MEEEEOOOOOWWWWWW" each time I call my dog. Then I keep talking to this cat in the darkness. I can't see it but I can hear it. I keep talking and with each "where are you?" or "kitty?" I get a distressed response from what I finally discovered was coming from our Explorer! I get my dog in the house then get my husband, I tell him..."I think there's a cat in our engine!" I grabbed a flash light and finally see that it's in the back axle. We can see it, it appears to be OK. It must have been looking for someplace warm. I get a can of tuna to see if it comes out. It does. It cries and cries all the way and DEVOURS this can of Bubble Bee packed in water tuna. I see that it's a little girl. She is very sweet and purrs and whole time she's eating! She has no colar and is skin and bones. Poor little girl! I sit and watch her eat the whole can of tuna and she still looks at me and cries. So I run inside and get some cat food. She eats half of the tuna can of it! I can't believe she's still eating. She must be starving. I can tell she's young. I return later with my cats old bed that he no longer sleeps in outside and put in on our front porch for her to sleep in. I checked in her several times and she wasn't in it. But then about 11:30 I peeked out the window and she was all curled up warm and cozy! Now heaven knows I need no more animals. But anyone that knows me - knows that I can't let ANY animal starve and have no home. I will feed it and perhaps it will just be a little outdoor friend. We'll see she may leave. She may have a home. I will keep you all posted. Here's a couple pictures, that I OF COURSE took of the whole event this evening!
For now I am calling her Miss Bumble Bee

Is it REALLY stealing?

So this evening we needed milk and ketchup before dinner. I jumped in my car and quickly went to the store...once I got there I realized I had NO WALLET! So not to be late for the dinner the Mister was preparing, a light bulb went off in my head - in the parking lot was a KFC/A&W. So walked in and straight to the condiment counter and grabbed a few packets of ketchup. The gal at the counter looked at me and I just said,

"Oh - I just need some ketchup"

I wasn't lying........ I DID need some ketchup! Tell me...is this stealing? We've eaten there before and NOT used the ketchup...does that count?

BACK TO DECORATING

It's been a while since I posted anything about my home. I have redone my whole bedroom this summer, paint new bedding etc., but have yet to get a great picture of it. It will come soon!

This week I decided to finally do what I have been thinking and pondering on for about a year now. Frame a few "w" 's it's our last name initial. Here is the finished product. It's in between my two windows in our front room. I moved them about 6800 times! They still may need a little "tweaking"!

Next, I was on my way to swim at a friends yesterday and I stopped at a garage sale. Boy am I glad I did! I found this shelf for 8 BUCKS!!!! Yes....I said $8!!! I put it up in my office. It too is a work in progress. I have added and deleted many items since putting it up last night.

LET THE (4 game season) GAMES BEGIN!

Locating our field of about 20 was the first obstacle of the morning...it was a nice crisp morning. Me, the Mister watching the LM & my coffee - outside in the sun...what could be better?

Ohhhhhhh yeah! Little Team Pow Wow at the net before game time!

He did a lot of this...running

Nice foot work son! (what you don't know is that he face planted right after I snapped this shot! Just kidding - but it made you laugh didn't it?)

Unofficial timeout for this little "Mighty Knight" (team name)

Yes the LM had his first soccer "game" last Saturday. I use the word GAME loosely. Essentially it's six 5 & 6 year olds chasing a ball that, in this particular game, was being kicked around by, what was CLEARLY a SEVEN year old. What the heck is HE doing in this league?!?!?!? LOL He was about a head taller then the rest and KNEW what he was doing. OK maybe he WAS 6 - however we non-partisan parents agreed he was most definitely on the END of the age limit date deadline to play in the 6 and under league!

It was fun none the less. think the LM touched the ball twice maybe three times. Not sure if this is HIS sport. When he sat out throughout the game the Mister asked him why he was just running along side everyone and not TRYING to get to the ball and he kept saying "I don't want to get hurt." We explained that that's what the shin guards are for.

We'll see what happens this Saturday.

OUR LAST HOORAH HAS COME TO A CLOSE

Yes we are back and as I've said before...it's great to go - but it's also always great to get home!

Here are are a "few" (HAHA) photos and details .

We flew into Anaheim Tuesday morning arrived about noon and headed to our Time-share (that was graciously given to me by my sister last year for my 39th birthday but we never used it until now). We found a Trader Joe's, bought lots of food for the week, unpacked it, rested for about 30 minutes then headed to our friends house for dinner in Orange County then headed back to go to bed about 930. We'd been up since 430 am so we were ready.

The next morning we got up early and headed to San Diego to visit Sea World. None of us had been there so we thought since we were only 2 hours aways - we should take advantage of that. It was very fun and hot! We saw the famous "Shamu" whale...

along with some others that live there, a couple of seal and sea lion shows

and several dolphins as well.

We tried to get wet at each show we went to, even sat in the "Soak Zone"-which they tell you if you DON'T want to get wet...MOVE - - each time and we were always one row too far up!!!
It appeared we couldn't PAY to get wet! ;) It actually became quite funny. We just kept visiting the restrooms and put cold water on ourselves and just consumed many gallons of water.
One NOT so funny side note involving water...we decided to go on a water RIDE since no water could find us at a show. So...we packed all of our electronic "safely" in our bag that we then put into another bag and headed to the Water Rapids. It was a very nice refreshing splash! About an hour later we hear something crackling...we;re like what's that?! It seemed to be coming from our "Safe" bag. Yes indeed it was. We immediately found a place to sit down and examine our bag. Camera CHECK ok... Both Lenses...CHECK ok...Video (the we BORROWED) CHECK...ok Hmmmmm what is it????? It was MY...NOT the Misters...MY Blackberry! It was short circuiting right in front of us! I quickly got it open and got my sim card and battery out-to at least save THOSE! So this on my first day. I felt lost the rest of the week. But I have to say it was a bit FREEING! I REALLY felt I was on vacation with out a phone, texts and emails!
anyway...
Seaworld is all Sesame Street themed.

Didn't know that. It was cute.

There were a few rides for the little ones...his favorite was the "Elmo Fish" which was like the Dumbo ride at Disneyland.

We rode that 4 times and he and the Mister rode some Tea Cup sort of ride 3 times without me. I don't like being dizzy so I took pictures.

We stayed until they closed (6pm) stopped in Carlsbad for In N Out burgers and then headed on our way.

The next day was Beach Day.

We headed to Target early for beach stuff (towels, blankets etc) then off to Newport Beach. We took picnic snacks, played in the waves and on a boogie board

built a sand castle

collected shells and just hung out. Watched the surfers,

buried his body in the sand-he thought that was the funniest thing ever.

the LM even did his Yoga-his favorite the "Sun Salutation", (learned from Wii Fit) which I thought was the funniest thing ever!

...and stayed for the sunset.

I just thought my toes looked cute. hee hee

I think that was my favorite day. I am learning to love the beach. I could get used to that. :)

Disneyland

was to be our next outing.

We got up early and headed that way. What a great time of year to go. VERY few people there, until after 4pm then it really wasn't' even bad. We hit the "Mad Hatter" first to get the traditional shirt (sweat shirt this year) and hat with the LM's name on it. This year he opted for a different kind of hat...no more ears.

He has two already. This is was his choice...
At the end of the day he looked at me with a sad face and said "I should have gotten a different hat." I asked why, and said "because everyone keeps twirling it." Which was true. About 90% of the strangers that walked by us would at the very least, mention how cute it was. He was thinking "Why are all these people touching my hat?" :)

The LM got to participate in the Star Wars "Jedi Training Academy" and even got to fight Darth Maul -among all the other fun regular adventures that this land has to offer.

VERY CLEVER. He was in shock the whole time - just taking it all in. Later that day we headed over to California Adventure and met our above mentioned friends there for about 5 hours. Had dinner there with them, watched High School Musical street show, a Pixar Parade & a Play House Disney show along with other rides. We ended the day with a few Fireworks on Main Street, a frozen banana and sore feet and shoulders. But all very much worth it.

The last day we were there we headed to a Swap-Meet at the Orange County Fairgrounds just up the road. It was fun. Lots of fun stuff, lots of junk and some very good people watching to do. All extremely entertaining! The Mister found a "Jesus" T-Shirt with his favorite verse on it. John 10:10 which he was so thrilled to find! The LM found a little Lego-type toy that all the packaging was in Chinese, for a buck. I found a bag and a necklace. Very proud purchases by all. That afternoon we were all pooped out so we took a nap and took a swim. After we got all rested up we headed over to Downtown Disney which is an open air mall with shops and restaurants, outside of that park gates. We ate at the Rain Forest restaurant walked around a bit then watched more fireworks that were being shot off INSIDE the gates of Disneyland. By the time that was all over we were ready to head back and get to bed for our trip home.

We got home about 930pm ready for a shower, a snack and our own bed.

Now back to reality.

I like my reality.

It's good to be back.

"ONE LAST HOORAH"

We are off to California for one last family trip! Well this is actually the only REAL family vacation we will have taken this summer - that didn't center around the Mister going out of town for work and us tagging along. We are really looking forward to it. We've gotten our housesitter all lined up, getting the house ready for her and getting packed and we're off in 6 AM!

Have a great week everyone! I will post picutres next week.

TAKE TWO

Well we've entered into yet another sport to "try" SOCCER

It has been fun to see the Mister and the LM play since the Mister has played his whole life. It's been fun already. Each night he didn't have practice this week he took him to the park to have a little one on one practice.

The LM had his first two practices last week. This league is specifically for the little ones that want to try it and see if they like it.

  • 5 on his team - all 5 or 6 years old
  • 3 on 3 games
  • NO scoring in games
  • more practices than games - 8 practices and as of now only 6 games

We got his uniform last week and the Mister took him to get a ball, shorts, shoes, shin guards and socks. He can't wait to wear his uniform shirt. After all...we have learned from T-Ball at this age it's ALL ABOUT THE UNI!

More to come once we have a game

ONE VERY PARTICULAR BOY

The LM and I were going swimming the other day and he informed me wanted to put the exact clothes back on after he was finished.

When we came back into the house...this is what I found in the Sun Room...

ONE DAY DOWN!

DAY 1

of the LM school career

The LM completed his first day of Kindergarten! He loved it. WHAT A RELIEF. I believed he would be fine, but for some reason he was concerned - which made me concerned~ :)

Of course any one that knows me I capture EVERYTHING on video and film and this day was no different. However as it turns out, our video camera door is broken and is being fixed so I haven't had one in 5 weeks. So I called my friend and borrowed hers! Problem solved. So the night before the first day I headed to her house to pick it up. (THANK YOU!)

The next morning we took our family tradition photo (my mother started this over 40 years ago with all of us) ... in the same spot in front of our house each year on the first day of school. A week before I was laying with him and ask him

"What do you want to wear on the first day of school?"

He QUICKLY answered

"A TIE....a red one. Not a yellow one. I can only wear a yellow on when I'm 15 - - - -(long pause)or maybe 39!"

OK little Dude! It was funny! As luck would have it...I already HAD a red one for him from last year.

I personally think he made a right choice.

I took video of him all the way to school...I wasn't planning to - but I had it-why not? Just getting his everyday conversation. I believe these are the little gems that we will truly enjoy looking back on 30 years from now. So I recorded away.

When we got there he got right out...while, like any boy I know, going out of his way to walk while balancing on the curb. So cute.

We walked him into the classroom. All the other students and parents were just standing around the room at the perimeter...not LM. He walked right in, hung his bag on his hook and proceeded to find his name on the table and have a seat! :) Then he tapped his fingers on the table just looking around at all the other kids like "why are all of you hanging on your Mommy's leg? This is OUR time!" It was so funny. Here's a shot of that moment.

OK HONESTLY! I'm not sure what I was thinking...I wore NO make-up! I clearly WASN'T!

Oh well...I'm close to 40 - I think I've finally come to grips with my real face! So I posed anyway. (I think being tan helped-if it was winter? FORGET IT!)

After all...this day will never come again. Look away if you need to.

I didn't think I could have gotten away with wearing my sun glasses on IN the class room.

We left and had a breakfast date since his first day was only an hour and a half. (Full 1/2 day is three hours)

When we returned there they all were following the teacher...filing out to the grassy area of the parking lot waiting for us.

We talked all the way home about his day. It was fun to hear all he had to say. He was little tired so I got the rest later that evening at his special dinner, in celebration of his first day of school.

We took him out and it was "His Night". He could have anything he wanted. He kept saying "It's MY night right? I can order anything I want?"

MAC and CHEESE of course

and

His OWN dessert

On the way home in the car with his arms up high he BELLOWED...

"I LOVE KINDERGARTEN!"

AN UNEXPECTED Hiatus!

The Mister had more work in Portland last week. He has been away a lot (Praise the Lord for the work we have been blessed with) this summer - so at the last minute, the LM and I packed our bags and our puppies and tagged along! :) Unfortunately, the majority of my in-laws were all out of town. But the LM and I had a very fun time (window) shopping, going to garage sales, having breakfast each morning together, swimming, visiting with old friends and even meeting new ones! Each morning after breakfast we loaded the dogs up and picked up my 12 year old nephew and their 1-1/2 yr old Golden- Mindy and headed to the park for about an hour and walked and let the dogs get some energy out. The weather was just perfect - not to hot not to cold. Perfect to be outside at all times of the day. The one day it rained it was as we were sleeping and the sun came out just as we woke up. NICE!

There was a family of 3 (along with Grandma) from San Diego checking out Portland and surrounding areas for their move next July. They too have a 5 year old names Anna and she and the LM became fast friends. We enjoyed hanging out with them daily at the pool, playing with the dogs, whatever the day brought when we were all at the hotel for the day. It was very nice to meet them and have someone to chat with!

We stayed a couple of days after the Mister was finished with his work week and went to the zoo and did a little shopping at stores that are not local to us here. The zoo was very fun...lots of
animals that we don't have here.

We ate all but one of our favorite eating establishments from ol' times...the ONE that we missed is CLOSED. It was a very nice little vacation. Thanks to Beth - for talking me in to going. I was going to go - then once I found out that the majority of our family was out of town I wasn't going to. But she convinced me that it could be fun despite that fact. She was correct! THANKS! I needed that break from home duties.

We also got to meet the newest little friend that was born 5 weeks ago. Merritt. He is so cute and it was so fun to hold a newborn. Mommy and Daddy are POOPED (as we can all relate to) but are thrilled to bring their first baby home! The LM really enjoyed him too. He begged to hold him. :) This is the friend that got the Mister into running. Two years ago. He has run all of his 1/2 marathons, marathons and Relays with him. In fact at the Marathon in October, when we parted ways with them I told them..."OK the next time I see you - I hope you tell me your pregnant!" Little did they know...they where THEN!

After we showered, got some things put away that night and we finally got to bed...I said

"Well, it's fun to go - but it's always great to get home!"

How's your summer going? I can't believe it's OVER!

KINDERGARTEN HERE WE COME!

The LM starts school NEXT WEDNESDAY! Kindergarten. He is not excited. I am surprised. He was so thrilled to begin Pre-School and LOVED it! All year! Still talks about it. He says things like

"I won't know anyone"
"They might laugh at me"

Where did this come from? Any words of wisdom? This breaks my heart! I know he'll be fine and do great - but I just HATE to see this started this early!

I HAVE RETURNED! (remember scroll down for chronological new posts)

NOW it's almost 2 months since I have posted! I have missed doing it. However, for some reason the further away I got from NOT doing it - it got easier to NOT do it.

But I have decided I need to get back into the swing of things...and I begin now with the announcement of our newest Family Member...

Allow me to introduce:
NORMAN HENRY
(He was Norman for about 24 hours - we even made him a name tag - then we woke up liking Henry better. So now he has a FULL name :) for the times he's REALLY in trouble!)

aka Henry

this is the day after we brought him home he sleeped in our front ground cover while I did things in the yard.

The LM on the first night we had him home

He is a Border Collie/German Shepard and he is a RASCAL! We got him on Monday June 30th. He was 7-1/2 weeks old. He is now 12-1/2 weeks old and is growing rapidly. He is 99.9% potty trained. We are learning his signals and he our routine and commands. He sleeps in his crate (we truly believe in Crate Training) every night with no crying (the first night he cried for 9 min and that was it-granted this was his first night away from, not only his "home" but his sister. She left the same day.) Some days he goes outside when we leave the house and sleeps in the cool dirt until we return home. He eats, sleeps, plays and poops JUST LIKE A REAL BABY.

his 2nd bath - he DIDN'T and doesn't love it

He loves to lay/nap on whatever a/c vent that's in whatever room we were in.

He knows how to sit on command. And we are working on fetching. He does not like to snuggle. He has things to do! His baby breathe to great! Those of you dog lovers know what I mean. There's nothin like it! His fur is as soft as a kitten. He loves to chase his tail. We've heard of this - but have never seen it in real life. He grawls, barks and chases it as if it were after him! He loves to follow Nathaniel and nip at his heels. Apparently after he had eaten dinner in his bowl and I left for about 5 seconds to feed Stella in the other room...he felt he didn't get enough to eat...so he hopped right in and helped himself to seconds.

Stella our 10 year old Border Collie/Chow Chow mix is doing very well with the new addition. She doesn't LOVE him but she DOES tolerate him. He constantly nips at her ears (this means he UNDERSTANDS and accepts that she's the dominate one) About two times a day he barks and nips to play - when she doesn't he moves on to a toy. When she does want to play with the puppy, she barks back and pounces like a puppy and he runs with his tail down and hides! LOL It's so funny. Stella's like..."Dude, I thought you wanted to play?" He did too until he's reminded of how big she is (68 lbs to his 6.6 lbs) and her deeper bark! I think they will be good friends one day. Stella loves to play with the dogs at our park who are her size. I wonder if she KNOWS he's a baby so she knows to be more gentle. Dogs are smart like that. As he goes they will play more. The second night he was here, Stella was sleeping on her bed...next thing I know I saw this...

THAT was so cute.
But then about 5 minutes later I saw THIS~

THIS cracked me up. I think he loves his Big DAWG!

Stella stayed there until she noticed he was there! :) Surprisingly about 20 minutes. This has and will probably never happen again.
This bed has become Henry's - he loves it
Stella always hated to HAVE-to be somewhere. She is an old Lady - we give her leeway - she's a good old girl! We let her lay where she wants to so it's a win-win.

The LM LOVES his little puppy. I wanted him to have a puppy grow up with. He is now almost 6 - it's a good time.

These are tonight

Not to mention Stella gets a break from his love for her. He is always laying her & wanting her to play. But she is almost 80 after all. So you can imagine how much she like that! In that respect I think she LOVES this puppy! LOL However there are some moments when Stella's got that look - and the LM AND Henry is 'bugging' her.

We love you Henry...welcome to our family!

FATHER'S DAY

For my 39th birthday in September - the Mister and the Little Mister (LM) completely surprised me with new bike. Then we went and bought LM the little tag-a-long bike that attaches to mine.
So this year LM and I thought it was time to get the Mister one of his own. Here we are on our first ride...this photo was from my phone....not so great. It was fun to go pick it out for him. LM loved buying Daddy a bike. Now HE trails behind Daddy.

We plan to have many family rides this summer!

OH MY...I AM SPOILED! updated

So I had posted earlier...that my the Mister came home with a Little Blue Box last weekend for our anniversary. I didn't post what it was...so here it is...the Somerset ring

Then for Mother's Day...he had yet ANOTHER one! (Yes he is making HUGE brownie points! ;) ) Along with a note about how this is our 5 year anniversary with our LM! And what a blessing he is and has been so he wanted to get me a special Mothers Day gift this year in honor of that. THIS is what I opened on Sunday. The Signature...

this has blue enamel along with the silver. It's very unique. Since I was a little girl I have always loved rings! My first one was from a family trip across country - a tiny little ring (I was tiny then like 4 years old) with three round turquoise lined up in silver. I think I'm set for rings for a while...well maybe. Are we ever?

Along with this unexpected surprise...after being at church for 3 services this weekend (sat and sun) I came home by 11am and the Mister made me brunch as the LM and I sat in the sun and played in the back yard. It was so nice and warm. After that we were all in our bed napping by 1:30. That was nice. Then got up and just hung out.

You did very well Honey! I love you! I too am SO indescribably grateful for our LM!

I forgot to post about the sweet little Lego structure that the LM "gave" me. Here we are with it. He even made me close my eyes...he was so excited to give it to me.

1 DOWN 5 TO GO!

Here's one of my latest projects. I bought these last summer and contemplated selling them several times. Oh how I'm thankful I didn't! I have 6 more to paint and recover. But I couldn't wait to post about it. So here are the before and after shots.

MY LITTLE CUB

The LM has completed his second year of Awana's and his last year of being a Cubbie. Next year he goes in with the BIG BOYS...Sparks.

He has thoroughly enjoyed every minute of his Awana career!

A VISIT FROM THE TOOTH FAIRY

Well the tooth from this post finally came out!

He was thrilled. We had been contemplating pulling it out - but he kept changing his mind. Then when he was ready Mommy WASN'T! I tried a couple of times but just couldn't bring myself to do it! Then on I was in the shower this AM and I heard him trying to yell something to me. I opened the shower door, pocked my head out and he is standing there holding his tooth saying "Mommy my tooth came out!" He was so excited...dancing around.

Since Daddy missed it...we chose to put it in a box and then tell him we had a "prize" for him. He opened it and he WAS surprised! It was fun for the LM to see Daddy be as excited as he was!

In good tradition we put it under his pillow for the Tooth Fairy. First thing out of his mouth in the AM was "I wonder what the Tooth Fairy brought me!" He looked under his pillow and he has 5 quarters. We assume that's since he is 5 years old. But who am I to say...I didn't see her to asked! ;)

What yet ANOTHER fun phase that we have entered. Only 19 left!

He keeps telling me. "I only have 19 teeth NOW. I think my tooth that fell out misses his teeth friends."

NOT TO BRAG...

But I have to say...I rocked this!!!
LOL
I have this huge garden window that was in our house when we bought it located behind my kitchen sink. I liked it in the respect it gave lots of light-but it is quite frankly...UGLY! I few months ago I came up with the idea to get shutters. So my search began and I finally found some. I wish I had taken a BEFORE but I forgot. Today I finally had a good amount of time to spend painting them and the perfect weather to do it.
before...
after

I LOVE IT! I really do! It adds some softness to my granite counter topped kitchen.

I FEEL SO SMART today!!! :)

SEVENTEEN

WHAT WOMAN DOESN'T LIKE THIS?

My husband had to be out of town this week. Today is our anniversary...17 years...he got home tonight about 10pm. He felt bad about being away for most our anniversary.

He came home with this sweet little box.

I think I will send him out of town EVERY YEAR!

Thanks Honey! I love it and you!

HAPPY 17!

My life wouldn't be the same without you. I am thankful to God that he crossed our paths 21 years ago!

Love your,
"Honeybunch"

SHEER MADNESS

I have lost my mind! I am addicted to sheer curtains right now. I'm sure this phase will pass - but until then you will find sheers in just about every room in my house....here's my latest. It just looks so soft and cozy. Plus they are very inexpensive so I can always change my mind and replace them will little regret.

Here's the latest...in our den, study, front room...we don't know what we want to call it. It's the room with no TV. It's so nice to have when we have guests.

I think I may tie them in the middle with some fun ribbon or raffia but need to find just the right thing! WILL UPDATE you all as I'm sure you will be waiting on pins and needles!

MY LATE NIGHT PROJECT...

People that know me know that I tend to do projects late at night. Tonight I didn't disappoint...at 10:30pm after watching the movie JUNO with my husband - I ran to Freds to get hangers to nail onto the back of a shelf that I had to sell (this is my weakness...I paint things then keep them! But at least my house is cute!)

Anyway...to hang in my laundry room. As I was driving home I thought I needed something chunkier above our bed to go WITH the wreath...so I relocated said shelf before even hanging it! :) Here it is before and after.

My husband is worried it may fall on our heads in the middle of the night. (That's why i hung it off center - off to HIS side! ;) Just kidding that would drive me nuts esthetically)

Grant it...we need to paint our walls..darker or lighter...but we can't decide. But for now this small change is satisfying!

BORING...

BETTER!

A NEW FOUND TREAT

I was in my local Fred Meyer store and they have a Starbucks inside. They had samples of this ...

Black and white-chocolate-caramel latte.

OH MY! It's not an everyday coffee but, oh is it a great tasting treat!
